Delve into the experience of existing between two countries, two cultures and two traditions with Mohamed Toukabri’s autobiographical solo dance work. Toukabri’s latest intimate work examines the story of a young man finding himself in Europe: from discovering street dance at the age of 12 in front of the railway station in Tunis, to his 10 years of performing with the renowned dance companies of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, and Jan Lauwers’ Needcompany. With thoughtful reflection as well as a candid irony, he takes us to what he calls ?the splendour of this mysterious zone?. Video projections from his family home, stories of casual racism and subtly humoured observations blend together, as his movements and reflections explore a personal yet universal migrant experience.
