British-African theatre group, Tiata Fahodzi has announced the line up for its fifth annual festival of African plays, Tiata Delights, billed as a chance for audiences to see plays from “a wealth of emerging and established writers” with roots and connections to Africa.

The company was founded in 1997 by Femi Elufowoju Jr, who was artistic director of the group until 2010 when Lucian Msamati took over.

This year's festival, which runs at the Africa Centre in Covent Garden from 26 September to 8 October, features Msamati's Memory Play and Tamba Tamba. The latter is two evenings of improvised performances on 28 and 29 September - “the ultimate ‘on-demand’ entertainment.”

There are also plays written by J Sibusiso Mamba (Midnight Train to Sunrise) on 26 and 27 September, JC Niala (The Strong Room) on 30 September and 1 October, and Lizzy Dijeh (Message from a Far Country) on 7 and 8 October.

Tony Award-winner Eve Ensler also contributes with a double bill of two contrasting plays which challenge the hypocrisy, perception and identity of the modern world.
