Guests including Anne-Marie Duff, Woody Harrelson and Matt Henry joined the cast of Pity for their opening night at the Royal Court last night.

Directed by Sam Pritchard, Rory Mullarkey's play is set in a market square, featuring a band and an ice-cream stand. As the piece progresses it becomes more surreal and distorted.

Cast in the production are Paul Bentall, Sandy Grierson, Helena Lymbery, Sophia Di Martino, Siobhan McSweeney, Francesca Mills, Abraham Popoola, Paul G Raymond and Dorian Simpson.

Pity is designed by Chloe Lamford, with costume design by Annemarie Woods, lighting design by Anna Watson, composition by Tom Deering, sound design by Pete Malkin and movement direction by Sasha Milavic Davies. It will also feature members of the Fulham Brass Band.
