New teaser scenes have also been released ahead of the digital drop

Plans for the digital release of Wicked: For Good have been revealed.
Cynthia Erivo, Grande, Jonathan Bailey and more all returned for the new film, while famous numbers from act two include “For Good”, “As Long As You’re Mine” and “No Good Deed”. It is also still showing in cinemas now.
According to a release sent out today, there will be two digital versions made available, with one longer version featuring a sing-along cut, bonus commentary from director Jon M Chu, a lengthy behind-the-scenes documentary, and six deleted scenes – they are as follows:
o A musical montage shows Munchkins moulding and painting golden bricks, for the Yellow Brick Road.
o As Glinda leaves Emerald City, the citizens erupt into musical fanfare, sending her off with radiant cheers and lavish celebration (you can see some of this below).
o Elphaba retreats to her lair, wrestling with the sting of Fiyero’s betrayal and the weight of her heartbreak
o Lost and abandoned, Elphaba returns to the one place she swore she’d left behind – her childhood home
o A flashback montage unfolds as Elphaba, Glinda, Fiyero, Boq, and Nessarose spend a carefree afternoon together
o Glinda steps into her bubble to float above Emerald City, contrasted with the Wizard’s nostalgic hot air balloon ascension as he reprises “A Sentimental Man”
The movie has also revealed an American streaming release date on 30 December – though a UK release date has not been confirmed. Based on last year’s distribution, this is likely to happen later in the same week – we’d bet on 2 January if we had to. In the US, will be available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray & DVD on 20 January 2026.
A plethora of clips from the deleted scenes have also been shown across US media outlets.
You may also spy some familiar faces in one below. The scene looks like it took place between the opening number of Wicked: For Good and “Thank Goodness”, as Ariana Grande’s Glinda checks in with the Lullaby League of Munchkins on a train platform. It looks like it features a blink-and-you’ll-miss cameos from famous West End names.
You can watch the clip here:
Snaps on social media have featured former Wicked stars Kerry Ellis (who played Elphaba in the West End and on Broadway), Emily Tierney (who played Glinda on Wicked‘s tour and was also in the West End ensemble), Dianne Pilkington (who played Glinda in the West End) and Louise Dearman (former Elphaba AND Glinda in the West End).
Ellis does not confirm she was in the train platform scene, though we’ve yet to spot her elsewhere in the movie.
In fact, Ellis, Rachel Tucker and Dearman teased their involvement in a WhatsOnStage Podcast earlier this year, before the end product was unveiled. The trio will be taking their Gravity concert on tour early next year.
Of course – there are dozens of familiar faces for theatre fans in the films – we’ve even assembled a guide to help you spot them!
