Waitress will embark on a major new tour next year.
With songs from composer-lyricist Sara Bareilles, and a book by Jessie Nelson, the musical follows Jenna Hunterson, a waitress and expert pie maker in a small town and a loveless marriage.
When a baking contest offers her a chance at escape, Jenna fights to reclaim a long-forgotten part of herself. With support from her fellow waitresses and an unexpected romance, Jenna begins to find the courage to pursue her dreams. It is based on a film of the same name by Adrienne Shelly.
The show has enjoyed runs worldwide, including on Broadway, in the West End, and on previous tours.
Waitress is directed by Tony Award-winner Diane Paulus, with choreography by Lorin Latarro, set by Scott Pask, lighting by Christopher Akerlind, sound by Jonathan Deans, and musical supervision and arrangements by Nadia DiGiallonardo.
The new tour, produced by Barry and Fran Weissler and David Ian for Crossroads Live, will open at the New Wimbledon Theatre on 28 March 2026, and the full set of announced tour dates can be found below.
Further tour dates and casting are to be announced.
