Following a somewhat rocky start in the West End, Spice Girls musical Viva Forever! has made some “major” creative changes and embarked on a new marketing drive, including releasing a video of cast member Ben Cura singing a romantic, Spanish-infused version of the title song.

The video, which was filmed in one shot in Piccadilly Circus (and involved a close shave with a bus), ends with Cura strolling into the foyer of the Piccadilly Theatre, where the show has been running since December.

Viva Forever! centres on Viva (Hannah
John-Kamen
), her mum (Sally Ann Triplett) and her friends whose lives
are turned upside down by an X Factor-style talent show.

Featuring Spice Girls hits including “Wannabe”, “2 Become 1” and the title song, Viva Forever! has a book by comedy star Jennifer Saunders and is directed by Paul Garrington.

The show is billed as a comedy musical about “family, friendship and
trying to stay true to yourself in a world where everyone craves instant
fame and will grab it at any price – a world where fortunes change on
the click of an iPhone or the whim of a TV talent show host.”

Last week Spice Girl Emma Bunton returned to the show, which has undergone “major changes” since the premiere, along with her celebrity friends Heidi Range and Holly Willoughby (pictured).

Regarding the recent changes, a press statement said: “The show is better than ever following some major changes – there is now more colour, more comedy, more music, more choreography and bags more fun!”
