Rehearsal images have been released for the West End transfer of The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13¾ – The Musical.

Opening at the Ambassadors Theatre on 15 June and running until 12 October, the musical is based on Sue Townsend's series of novels about the young intellectual Adrian Mole as he grows up in the 1980s. It originally ran in Leicester in 2015 and again at south London's Menier Chocolate Factory in 2017.

Directed by Luke Sheppard, the musical has book and lyrics by Jake Brunger and music and lyrics by Pippa Cleary.

Appearing in the musical will be Amy Ellen Richardson (Sweet Charity), Andrew Langtree (Groundhog Day), Holly Ashton (A Study in Scarlet), Ian Talbot (Hairspray), John Hopkins (The One), Lara Denning (Matilda), Mathew Craig (Miss Saigon) and Rosemary Ashe (The Witches of Eastwick).

The children's cast has also been announced, with several performers all aged between 12 and 14 taking on the roles of Adrian, Pandora, Barry and Nigel. Nicholas Antoniou-Tibbitts, Aaron Gelkoff, Michael Hawkins and Rufus Kampa will alternate the role of Adrian. Molly May Gibson, Matilda Hopkins, Rebecca Nardin and Riya Vyas will alternate the role of Pandora. Jack Gale, Aaron Shaw, Charlie Stripp and Kobi Watson will alternate the role of Barry. Regan Garcia, Albert Green, Cuba Kamanu and Jeremiah Davan Waysome will alternate the role of Nigel.

The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13¾ – The Musical has choreography by Rebecca Howell, set and costume design by Tom Rogers, lighting design by Howard Hudson, musical direction by Mark Collins, musical supervision and orchestrations by Paul Herbert, additional casting by Ellie Collyer-Bristow and children's casting by Jo Hawes.
