The Phantom of the Opera announces new West End Raoul

The Phantom of the Opera has announced a new Raoul for the West End.

The current cast includes Dean Chisnall as The Phantom and Beatrice Penny-Touré as Christine Daaé, alongside Joanna Ampil as Carlotta Giudicelli, Bradyn Debysingh as Ubaldo Piangi, Martin Ball as Monsieur Firmin, Adam Linstead as Monsieur André, Helen Hobson as Madame Giry and Millie Lyon as Meg Giry. At certain performances, the role of Christine Daaé is played by Colleen Rose Curran.

It was announced today that Ashley Gilmour will be stepping into the role of Raoul, with the move coming in the same week as Penny-Touré beginning her spell at His Majesty’s Theatre.

The company is completed by George Arvidson, Michael Baxter, Embla Bishop, David Burilin, Polly Clarke, Leonard Cook, Hywel Dowsell, Connor Ewing, Florence Fowler, James Gant, Emily George,  Melanie Gowie, Molly Hall, Eilish Harmon-Beglan, Will Hawksworth, Matt Hayden, Nicholas Hepher, Mandy Kwan, Verity Marlow, Tim Morgan, Inguna Morozova, Skye November, Taylor Pardell, Johnny Randall, Zoë Soleil Vallée, Rachel Spurrell, Jasmine Wallis and Victoria Ward.

The music for the show is composed by Lloyd Webber, with lyrics by Charles Hart and additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe. The book for the musical is written by Stilgoe and Lloyd Webber, and it is based on the novel Le Fantôme de l’Opera by Gaston Leroux. The orchestrations for the music are by David Cullen and Lloyd Webber, while the musical supervision is handled by Simon Lee.

The production design for the show is created by Maria Björnson, with set design adapted by Matt Kinley and associate costume design by Jill Parker. Lighting for the show is designed by Andrew Bridge with associate lighting design by Warren Letton, and the sound design is by Mick Potter. The musical staging and choreography for the show was handled by Gillian Lynne, recreated and adapted by Chrissie Cartwright.

The Phantom of the Opera will be taking West End bookings through to Saturday 13 March 2027, with the new tickets going on sale on Tuesday 10 March at 11am.
