The show opens at the end of the month
Take a first listen to Ohio ahead of its Edinburgh Fringe bow.
Written and performed by The Bengsons (Shaun and Abigail Bengson) and directed by Caitlin Sullivan, it tells the story of Shaun’s break from the church and his experience living with degenerative hearing loss inherited from his father. The production features creative captions and explores finding hope in challenging times.
It has set and costume design by Cate McCrea, sound design by Nick Kourtides, lighting design by Bethany Gupwell and video design by David Bengali.
The team includes Ceci Calf as associate set and costume designer, Dan Samson as associate sound designer, Oscar Burr as associate lighting designer and programmer, and Dave Murray for Infinity Technical as associate video designer.
Alexander Hannah is production LX and Liam McDermott is production sound engineer. The production is managed by Jack Boissieux Production Management with Sydney Prince as production associate. Producers are Francesca Moody Productions and piece by piece productions.
The stage management team includes Leon Smith as company stage manager, Chloe Forestier-Walker as deputy stage manager and Andie Burns as rehearsal stage manager, with Hope Brennan and Christina Spanoudis on sound. Music recording is by Ian Kagey at Renaissance Recording, with video by Zanni Video and editing by Helios Media.
The production runs at Assembly Roxy (Upstairs) from 30 July to 24 August on selected dates at 3pm, with the show then set to transfer to the Young Vic in London, where it runs from 30 September to 24 August.
