Performances are taking place at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre!
The curtain is going “Up!” this evening in London.
Sing Street, based on John Carney’s beloved 2016 film, is receiving its much-anticipated UK premiere. It follows a 16-year-old Dubliner named Conor, who tries to form a band in the 1980s.
Recently, WhatsOnStage was invited to a dress run at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre for a sneak peek at the production. After all, you all enjoyed our TikToks from the rehearsal room!
Taking on the central role of Conor is Sheridan Townsley, while Adam Hunter is set to make his musical theatre debut in the role of brother Brendan. Grace Collender will play Raphina, the “model” that enchants the young Conor, while Conor’s younger sister Anne is played by Tateyana Arutura.

The London cast also features Tateyana Arutura (as Anne), Harry Curley (as Kevin), Jenny Fitzpatrick (as Sandra), Indiana Hawkes (as Gary), Cameron Hogan (as Darren), Lloyd Hutchinson (as Brother Baxter), Jesse Nyakudya (as Eamon), Lochlann Ó Mearáin (as Robert), Matthew Philp (as Declan), Seb Robinson (as Larry), Jack James Ryan (as Barry) and Lucianne McEvoy (as Penny).
Forming the creative team are choreographer Sonya Tayeh, set designer Bob Crowley, lighting designer Natasha Katz, video designer Luke Halls, costume designer Lisa Zinni, wigs, hair and make-up designer Helen Keane, musical director Nick J Barstow, casting director Stuart Burt, with choreography re-staged by Mia DeWeese and Camden Gonzales, associate direction by Nicholai La Barrie and dialect and voice coaching by Hazel Holder. Clark and Gordeno also serve as orchestrators and arrangers.

Sing Street runs at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre until 23 August 2025, with a press night set for 18 July.
