Casting has been announced for Dr Seuss's The Lorax which will open at the Old Vic in December.

I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change star Simon Lipkin will play the Lorax alongside puppeteers Laura Cubitt and Ben Thompson, whilst Urinetown star Simon Paisley Day will take the role of the Once-ler.

Adapted from the book of the same name, the production is directed by Max Webster with choreography by Drew McOnie.

The Lorax tells of a moustachioed and cantankerous critter who's on a mission to protect the earth from the greedy, tree-chopping, Thneed-knitting businessman known only as The Once-ler.

The Old Vic has incorporated a special concession for Dr Seuss's The Lorax which will give children aged 14 and under a 50% reduction on tickets priced £60 and £50 throughout the run, excluding Fridays or Saturdays.

Dr Seuss's The Lorax opens at the Old Vic on 16 December 2016.
