Rachael Wooding to star in Wonderland

Britain's Got Talent finalist Rachael Wooding is to star in the upcoming UK tour of Wonderland.

Wooding's previous credits include starring in the title role of Evita, We Will Rock You, Hairspray and Jersey Boys.

The actress will guest star as Alice in a cast which includes Wendi Peters, Dave Willetts and Kerry Ellis.

Ellis will star as Alice in Edinburgh, Sunderland, Birmingham, Bromley, Woking, Manchester, Wimbledon, Bristol, Brighton, Liverpool, Stoke and Milton Keynes and Bournemouth.

Wooding will play the role in Southend, Oxford, Grimsby, York, Blackpool, Southampton, Aberdeen, Lowestoft, Torquay, Llandudno, Glasgow, Swansea, Wolverhampton and Richmond.

Wonderland has music by Frank Wildhorn, lyrics by Jack Murphy and a book by Murphy and Gregory Boyd. The musical is an adaptation of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Lotte Wakeham will direct the show, with choreography from Lucie Pankhurst.

Wonderland runs at the Edinburgh Playhouse from 20 to 28 January and then tours the UK.
