John Tiffany's production of Jim Cartwright's Road opened at the Royal Court on Saturday and guests including Iain Glen and Noma Dumezweni were on hand to help celebrate.

Glen reunited with his former Game of Thrones castmate Michelle Fairley who stars in the show alongside Mark Hadfield, Faye Marsay and Mike Noble.

The cast for Cartwright's first play – about a group of people who live on the same road in a working class area of Lancashire during Margaret Thatcher's government – is completed by Shane Zaza, Liz White, June Watson, Dan Parr and Lemn Sissay.

In his review for WhatsOnStage, Matt Trueman said: "Cartwright empowers through eloquence and Tiffany raises people up and gives them a platform."

Road runs at the Royal Court until 9 September.
