Matthew Seadon-Young leads West End cast of Urinetown

Matthew Seadon-Young will take over from Richard Fleeshman in the lead role of Bobby Strong for the run at the Apollo Theatre

Full casting has been announced for the West End transfer of Urinetown at the Apollo Theatre, with Matthew Seadon-Young taking over the lead role of Bobby Strong from Richard Fleeshman.

Joining the previously announced cast including Jenna Russell, Marc Elliot and Jonathan Slinger will also be Nathan Amzi as Officer Barrel.

Simon Paisley Day will also reprise his role of Cladwell in Jamie Lloyd's production of Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis' musical which is set in a dystopian future where water is scarce.

The rest of the cast comprises Chris Bennett, Katie Bernstein, Alasdair Buchan, Cory English, Madeleine Harland, Rosanna Hyland, Karis Jack, Julie Jupp, Aaron Lee Lambert, Vicky Lee Taylor, Mark Meadows, Christina Modestou, Joel Montague, Jeff Nicholson and Kane Oliver Parry.

Matthew Seadon-Young appeared in the St James Theatre production of Urinetown, and has other credits including Les Miserables and The Architects. Nathan Amzi's stage credits include In the Heights and Rock of Ages, and he also appeared on TV talent show The Voice.

Urinetown is designed by Soutra Gilmour, with choreography by Ann Yee, lighting by Adam Silverman, sound by Terry Jardine and Nick Lidster and musical supervision by Alan Williams. It runs at the Apollo Theatre from 29 September 2014.
