Lucie Jones, Jodie Prenger and Melanie La Barrie to star in free Leicester Curve birthday concert

The Leicester theatre is to host a free one-off birthday concert in August

Leicester's Curve has announce the line-up for its free tenth birthday celebration concert in August, Curve Live!.

The night will feature musical numbers, drama and dance performances from stars who have previously appeared at Curve including Lucie Jones – who played Elle Woods in the theatre's production of Legally Blonde – and Jodie Prenger who appeared in Calamity Jane at the theatre in 2015.

Jones and Prenger will host the event which will also feature performances from X Factor winner Sam Bailey, Anton Stephans, Dex Lee (following his role in Grease), Aakash Odedra, Djalenga Scott, Molly Lynch, Jessica Paul, Dan Burton, Mark Peachy, Peter Polycarpou, Stewart Clarke, Ceri Dupree, Nathanael Landskroner, Amara Okereke, Melanie La Barrie, Wendy Mae-Brown, Lucy Williamson, Alyshia Dhakk and the Curve Young Company.

Tickets for Curve Live! will be free of charge and will be available via ballot through the Curve's website and the ticket office. The show takes place on 26 August at 7pm and the ballot is open from now until 12 noon on 8 August. Audience members can apply for up to two free tickets. Winners of tickets will be contacted the week commencing 13 August.

Artistic director of the Curve, Nikolai Foster, and chief executive Chris Stafford said: "Curve was built for the people of Leicester and Leicestershire and it is fitting we are throwing open our doors and welcoming new and familiar friends to our free concert, Curve Live! Alongside a day of activities for the entire family, Curve Live! will celebrate our Made at Curve work from the past decade, but with an eye firmly on the future."
