Brayben chatted to us about the hit Almeida musical
Katie Brayben has teased future life for hit muscial Tammy Faye, which she appeared in last autumn and, over the weekend, won an Olivier Award for.
Brayben and co-star Zubin Varla picked up gongs at the Royal Albert Hall for their turns in James Graham, Elton John and Jake Shears’ piece, which tells the story of televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker and her husband Jim Bakker as they rise to international stardom.
It received a glowing review from WhatsOnStage during its initial run at the Almeida Theatre in north London – being described by Sarah Crompton as “clever, catchy and great fun”.
Chatting to WhatsOnStage in the winner’s room after picking up her Olivier, Brayben teased: “I’m so excited to do it again. Watch this space basically – it’s gonna happen, you know, we want it to happen, so it will do. I’m literally giving birth in a couple of weeks so, give me a bit of time and I’ll be back to it. Can’t wait!”
You can watch the full set of interviews below – including chats with Jodie Comer, Paul Mescal, Beverley Knight, Arthur Darvill and more.
We await confirmation and further details about Tammy Faye’s return!
