Mel Brooks’ musical opened to positive reviews in the West End last night
The stars turned out in force last night to see Mel Brooks' musical Young Frankenstein come alive in the West End.
Joan Collins, Tim Minchin, Cameron Mackintosh, Paul Merton and a raft of celebrities supported the show on its opening night, joining the cast afterwards to celebrate.
In our five-star review of the show, writer Alun Hood says 'it becomes literally impossible to stop laughing. A triumph'.
Based on the hit 1974 film which starred Gene Wilder, Young Frankenstein has a cast including Hadley Fraser, Ross Noble, Summer Strallen, Lesley Joseph and Diane Pilkington. It is directed by Susan Stroman.
The show has a book by Brooks and Thomas Meehan, with music and lyrics by Brooks.
Young Frankenstein runs at the Garrick Theatre until 10 February.
