I’m Every Woman – The Chaka Khan Musical has released a brand-new trailer ahead of its world premiere run, beginning performances in London this week.

Alexandra Burke leads the new musical exploring Khan’s life and career. It features songs from her solo work and her time with the band Rufus, including “I Feel for You”, “Tell Me Something Good”, “Ain’t Nobody”, “Sweet Thing”, “Higher Love” and “Through the Fire.” The book includes appearances from figures such as Joni Mitchell, Prince, Stevie Wonder and Steve Winwood.

The production was originally scheduled for a limited run at the Peacock Theatre from 5 to 28 March 2026, which was halted due to building repair works. It will now debut at Hackney Empire from 21 to 25 March, before transferring to the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry from 1 to 4 April and the Congress Theatre in Eastbourne from 7 to 11 April.

Joining Burke in the cast are Jordan Frazier as alternate Chaka Khan, Paige Peddie as Taka Boom, Chanice Alexander-Burnett as Tammy Michelle and Paulette McWilliams, Charlotte St Croix as Milini Khan and Whitney Houston, Maryla Abraham as Sandra Stevens, Chrissie Bhima as Marie Stevens, Sophie Earl as Joni Mitchell, Duane-Lamonte O’Garro as Hassan Khan and Luther Vandross, Miles Anthony Daley as Richard Holland and Prince, Teddy Wills as Fred Hampton, Miles Davis and Grand Master Melle Mel, Chris Breistein as Steve Winwood, Samuel Sarpong-Broni as Charles Stevens, Yoruba Priest and Stevie Wonder, and Peter Houston as Bob Monaco.

The ensemble includes Kayleigh Stephenson, Earl Gregory, Vanessa Dumatey, Gregory Armand, Harry Robinson, Zinzile Tshuma, Oskarina O’Sullivan, Connor Wilkins and Tarik Frimpong, who also serves as resident choreographer.

The creative team includes book writer Nia T Hill, director Racky Plews, musical supervisor Mark Crossland, choreographer Ebony Clarke, set designer Sara Perks, sound designer Chris Whybrow, costume designer Natalie Pryce, hair and makeup designer JJ Wigs, casting director Debbie O’Brien, associate director Oliver Lidert, production manager Toby P Darvill and general manager Emily Obasohan.

The production is presented by Adrian Grant Productions in association with Khan, with co-producers Willette Klausner Murphy for WMK Productions, Tammy Michelle, Mahben Quddus and Dave Lumby.
