‘Ribbit’-ing casting news from Southwark Playhouse
Kevin McHale will be joined by a series of guest stars in The Frogs, opening later this month at Southwark Playhouse Borough.
The performer, making his UK stage debut as Xanthias, appears alongside a rotating lineup in the role of Pluto.
Victoria Scone appears from 23 to 31 May, Danielle Steers plays Pluto from 2 to 7 June, Sooz Kempner performs from 9 to 14 June and Jo Foster takes on the role from 16 to 21 June. A final guest performer will appear for the closing week, from 23 to 28 June, with casting yet to be announced.
The full company also features Dan Buckley as Dionysos, Joaquin Pedro Valdes as Herakles, Carl Patrick as Charon, Bart Lambert as Shakespeare, Martha Pothen as Shaw, Alison Driver as Ariadne, Evonnee Bentley-Holder in the ensemble, and Milo McCarthy as dance captain.
The production is directed by Georgie Rankcom, with musical supervision by Ben McQuigg, musical direction by Yshani Perinpanayagam, choreography by Matt Nicholson, and design by Libby Todd. Lighting is by Samuel Biondolillo, sound by Joshua Robins, and orchestration by Tim Sutton. Casting is by Peter Noden.
The Frogs runs from 23 May to 28 June. Press night is 27 May.
