Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan have completed a script for a potential reboot of the musical television series Glee.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, co-creator Murphy confirmed that he has written a draft alongside Falchuk and Brennan, who together penned the first two seasons of the original show.
Murphy stated that he has contacted roughly ten members of the original cast to discuss the project, reporting that they expressed interest in the concept. The names of those contacted was not disclosed.
The project, produced by 20th Television, has not yet been pitched to a network or streaming platform, and the cast has not yet read the finished script.
The original series, which followed a high school show choir in Ohio, ran for six seasons on Fox between 2009 and 2015. Cast in the show that have appeared on stages across the world include Lea Michele, Darren Criss, Jonathan Groff, Matthew Morrison, Amber Riley, Alex Newell, and Kevin McHale. For many, it was entry point into the world of musical theatre.
