The new play is adapted from the 2015 film

Gabriel Byrne is joining Geraldine James in the cast of 45 Years, which premieres at the Minerva Theatre, Chichester in June.
The play is adapted from Andrew Haigh’s 2015 film of the same name, which is turn was based on David Constantine’s short story In Another Country. It centres on the ramifications that the discovery of a woman’s body in a melting glacier has on a long-term marriage.
The stage version is written by Hannah Patterson (Eden, Playing With Grown Ups), directed by Prasanna Puwanarajah (Twelfth Night, RSC), and runs from 18 June to 11 July, following previews from 12 June.
The creative team includes designer James Cotterill, lighting designer Guy Hoare, composer Ruth Barrett, sound designer Beth Duke, movement director Natasha Harrison and casting director Matilda James.
