Natalie Gavin will play Eliza Doolittle in Sam Pritchard’s production
Natalie Gavin will star in Sam Pritchard's production of Pygmalion, which opens at the West Yorkhire Playhouse next February.
Gavin will play Eliza Doolittle in George Bernard Shaw’s comedy, which sees a professor make a bet with the cockney flower girl that she can't pass for a duchess.
The play went on to be adapted into the famous musical film My Fair Lady in 1956, which starred Rex Harrison and Audrey Hepburn.
Alex Beckett (Edward II) will play the professor Henry Higgins, Liza Sadovy (Wicked) will play Mrs Higgins and Alfred Doolittle will be played by Ian Burfield (Floyd Collins).
The cast also includes Flaminia Cinque, Raphael Sowole, Gavi Singh Chera and Racheal Ofori.
Pygmalion has design by Alex Lowde, sound by Ben and Max Ringham, lighting by Jack Knowles
and projection by Will Duke.
Pygmalion opens at the West Yorkshire Playhouse on 8 February, with previews from 4 February. It then tours to Warwick, Liverpool, Leicester, Cheltenham, Bath, Oxford and Nuffield.
