The co-production between Sheffield Theatres and Royal Exchange Theatre is playing now

Production photos of a new production of Brian Friel’s Dancing at Lughnasa have been revealed.
Marking the start of Elizabeth Newman’s tenure as artistic director of Sheffield Theatres, the much-loved drama is being staged in the round.
Featuring in the cast are Martha Dunlea as Christina, Kwaku Fortune as Michael, Frank Laverty as Jack, Rachel O’Connell as Rose, Siobhán O’Kelly as Margaret, Laura Pyper as Agnes, Natalie Radmall-Quirke as Kate and Marcus Rutherford as Gerry. Rosemary Boyle and Richard Galloway will be swings for the production.
Newman directs the revival and is joined on the creative team by designer Francis O’Connor, movement director Sundeep Saini, lighting designer Chris Davey, composer and sound designer Pippa Murphy, casting director Arthur Carrington, associate director Amanda Collins, Birkbeck assistant director Sadie Mears, fight director Kaitlin Howard, and associate lighting designer Mark Distin Webster.
The new production is currently playing at Crucible Theatre, Sheffield until 4 October before visiting the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester from 10 October to 8 November.
