Producer Sonia Friedman is teaming with Shakespeare's Globe again to bring Claire van Kampen's new play Farinelli and the King to the West End.

Starring Mark Rylance, the play, which recently premiered in the candlelit Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, centres on the relationship between King Philippe V of Spain (Rylance) and a famous castrato singer.

Farinelli and the King, which continues in the Sam Wanamaker until Sunday (8 March), will transfer in September for a strictly limited run at the Duke of York's Theatre.

Friedman also co-produced the West End and Broadway transfer of Richard III and Twelfth Night starring Rylance in 2012.
