Duncan James will join the cast of Chicago from 10 September.

Taking over the role of Billy Flynn following Martin Kemp's run in the role, James previously played the part in 2008. He will join Alexandra Burke as Roxie Hart, Josefina Gabrielle as Velma Kelly, Mazz Murray as Mama Morton and Paul Rider as Amos Hart.

James was recently seen in Hollyoaks, and is one quarter of famed boy band Blue. His other theatre credits include Legally Blonde at the Savoy Theatre.

Kander and Ebb's musical won six Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards and a Grammy. It tells the story of a young woman, Roxie, who is incarcerated and put on trial for murder.

The show is currently running at the Phoenix Theatre until 5 January.
