Stars came to the National Theatre for a special fundraising gala last night.
The Up Next Gala raised £1.165 million to help the National Theatre's work across the UK, and featured specially-commissioned performances with stars including Roger Allam, Olivia Colman, Lenny Henry, Meera Syal and David Tennant taking to the stage.
Auction lots on the evening included a Sunday lunch on an NT stage and a city breakfast with the cast and creatives of The Lehman Trilogy.
The National Theatre's artistic director Rufus Norris said: "The arts, which can transform lives, are not accessible to those who might most benefit from them. Using funds raised from the gala, we are able to continue working with partners across the UK to redress this imbalance and harness the power and potential of theatre to bring people together."
