David Morrissey is set to lead the cast in a double bill of two plays from Harold Pinter.
The production, which will showcase Pinter’s perception of love, marriage, and relationships, will take place at the Ustinov Studio in Theatre Royal Bath from Thursday 14 March to Saturday 13 April 2024.
The two plays in question are The Lover and The Collection. The Lover is a quirky, tense, and intriguing glimpse at the private intricacies of modern marriage, while The Collection is a comic play of suspense and sexual jealousy between two couples, sparked by an anonymous phone call in the dead of night.
Morrissey has had roles on both sides of the Atlantic including The Walking Dead, Doctor Who, and his turn in hit series Britannia. His recent stage credits include The End of History… at the Royal Court, Julius Caesar at the Bridge and Martin McDonagh’s Hangmen, which ran at the Royal Court and in the West End.
Director Lindsay Posner returns to the Ustinov Studio fresh from his widely acclaimed production of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. His recent productions in Bath and for the West End include Noises Off, God of Carnage, Stone in his Pockets, She Stoops To Conquer, and Hay Fever. Further cast and creative team members will be announced in due course.
