Chariots of Fire will head out on its first ever UK tour.
Mike Bartlett’s stage adaptation is based on the multi-award-winning film that is inspired by the true story of Eric Liddell and Harold Abrahams, as they strive for glory in the 1924 Paris Olympics.
The tour will be produced by Bill Kenwright Ltd and kick off in autumn 2026. It will be directed by Roxana Silbert and feature music by Vangelis.
Jenny Seagrove, chairperson of Bill Kenwright, said about the director: “I know that with her unique vision and flair, audiences across the country are in for an incredible night at the theatre.”
It will be presented by arrangement with Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation and Allied Stars SA Panama, based on the Enigma Productions Limited motion picture with a screenplay by Colin Welland.
Chariots of Fire will open at the Theatre Royal Windsor on 3 September before visiting Edinburgh King’s Theatre. Full casting and tour dates are still to be announced.
