An all-Irish company will bring Little Shop of Horrors to life this summer.
The much-loved musical by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken centres on a flower shop, home to a bloodthirsty plant. It features numbers including the title song, “Somewhere That’s Green”, and “Suddenly, Seymour”.
Directed and choreographed by Claire Tighe, the new production has musical direction by David Hayes, set design by Maree Kearns, costume design by Kevin Hynes, lighting design by John Gallagher, and sound design by Jason Fallon. Chris Corroon is the puppeteer.
Leading the cast are David O’Reilly as Seymour and Jacqueline Brunton as Audrey.
Playing the Street Urchins are Ghaliah Conroy, Aoife Dunne, and Precious Abimbola.
They’ll be joined by Johnny Ward, Garry Mountaine, Kenneth O’Regan, Michael Joseph, Rachel Gaughan, Amy Penston, Michael Lovette, James Deegan, Zoe Talbot, Eimear Barr, and Cian O’Riain.
The first full-scale musical theatre production produced in-house will play at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, in partnership with TheatreworX, from 25 July to 9 August 2025.
