Lance Corporal Richard Jones, who wowed TV viewers when he was crowned the first ever magician to win Britain’s Got Talent last month, is set to join the West End cast of Impossible at the Noël Coward Theatre.

Jones won the talent show with a trick that told the true story of war veteran Fergus Anckorn’s time as a prisoner of war during the Second World War.

Talking about the show, Jones said: "The past few weeks have been such a whirlwind! It is truly a dream come true to have won Britain’s Got Talent and now to be joining Impossible, in the heart of the West End, with such brilliant magicians. It is something I have always dreamt of."

The show, which returns to the West End from 13 July – 27 August, also features acts including break-dancing magician Magical Bones, daredevil Jonathan Goodwin and mind reader Chris Cox.

The show ran at the Noel Coward last year and after some questions about its lack of female performers, they have introduced two new acts; illusionists Josephine Lee and Sabine Van Diemen.

Impossible runs at the Noël Coward Theatre from 13 July – 27 August.
