Paul Kerensa’s comedy show Borderline Racist confronts and attempts to dispel stereotypes of place and nationality. Performing his show at the Canons’ Gait in Edinburgh however, Kerensa found himself in for a surprise. Originally from Cornwall, Kerensa was determined to shake off the reputation the Cornish have for in-breeding. Unfortunately, his plan backfired: the only other Cornish person in the audience turned out to be not only his second-cousin, but also involved with the Fringe herself. Caroline Swain, Kerensa’s newly acquainted relative, is the producer of Bluebird, a drama about a London taxi driver. Evidently theatrical talent runs in the family… Swain’s show can be found at the Zoo Roxy.
