Catherine Steadman trained at Oxford School of Drama. Her theatre credits include That Face (Duke of York's/Royal Court), Numbers (Landor), Babooshka (Liberated Theatre/Pleasance) and The Glory of Living (BAC).

Recent TV roles include Downton Abbey, The Tudors and The Inbetweeners.

She can currently be found on stage at the Vaudeville Theatre playing Jean Tatlock in the RSC's Oppenheimer.

We caught up with Catherine to ask a few of her favourite things.

Film?

Ghostbusters – Dan Ackroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis & Sigourney Weaver etc – such a great cast.

Place to hang out in London?

69 Colebrooke Row (The Bar with no Name) It’s a tiny cocktail bar hidden down a side street in Islington. Try the ‘Prairie Oysters’ or ‘The Rose’.

Restaurant?

Dinings, I'd order the mini sushi tacos. This is one of Marylebone’s best kept secrets, it’s run by 2 ex Nobu chefs. It’s small and private and does the most amazing Japenese/South American fusion.

Holiday Destination?

Barbados

Play/Musical that you have seen?

Pillowman, I saw Adam Godley & Jim Broadbent in it at the National in 2003 and it’s still my favourite.

Actress/Actor?

Cate Blanchett, Sigourney Weaver, Daniel Day Lewis and Will Ferrell.

Theatre to Visit?

Almeida, they have had so much great stuff on recently.

Theatre you’ve performed in?

The Royal Court, the first production of That Face here was such a fantastic experience. The theatre upstairs is a really exciting place for new writing.

Theatrical anecdote?

When we were rehearsing That Face at the Royal Court we finished a scene and Jeremy Herrin nodded and said "That’s great, can we go again. Let’s go from…’F**k you’. To which we all instantly replied in unison, "Which one?"

Oppenheimer is running at the Vaudeville Theatre until 23 May.
