Having first been seen in the West End in the summer of 2021, the show has now played at four West End venues with five casts. It most recently ran at the Lyric Theatre with a cast including Cheryl and Jake Wood. It transfers to the Apollo Theatre from 14 May to 17 September.
The spooky thriller is set to open at Theatre Royal Bath on 1 September 2023, and will visit Canterbury, Newcastle, Milton Keynes, Norwich, Southampton, Brighton, Salford, Leicester, Belfast, Glasgow, Plymouth, Northampton, Birmingham, Sheffield, Wolverhampton, Richmond, Woking, York and Nottingham.
The newly announced stops include Festival Theatre Edinburgh, Cardiff New Theatre, Wycombe Swan Theatre, His Majesty’s Theatre Aberdeen, Churchill Theatre Bromley, Liverpool Empire, Hall for Cornwall Truro, Blackpool Grand, New Theatre Hull, and Sunderland Empire, bringing the current total number of venues to 30, with more to be announced.
Casting for the tour is still to be revealed.
Playwright Danny Robins said: “I’m so pleased to announce that EVEN MORE audiences across the UK will be able to experience the spine-tingling thrills of 2:22 A Ghost Story. I can guarantee that every audience, from Truro to Aberdeen, will laugh, scream, cry, and jump out of their seats at this ghostly tale.”
Under the direction of Matthew Dunster and Isabel Marr, the production has set design by Anna Fleischle, costume design by Cindy Lin, lighting design by Lucy Carter, sound by Ian Dickinson for Autograph Sound and illusions by Chris Fisher. Casting is by Matilda James.
