Former EastEnders and Coronation Street star Michelle Collins will star in Tom Wright's comedy My Dad's Gap Year, which opens on 30 January at the Park Theatre.

Directed by Rikki Beadle-Blair, the cast will also feature Adam Lannon, Alex Britt, Max Percy and Victoria Gigante. The piece follows father Dave (Lannon) who goes to Thailand to help teenage son William (Britt) lose his virginity. Collins plays the role of Cath, William's mother, who goes on a journey of self-discovery as she adjusts to being single again.

The piece, which runs until 23 February, has set and costume design by Sarah Beaton, lighting design by Derek Anderson and sound design by Benjamin Winter.

The production will be accompanied by a programme of activities, with three LGBTQ+ writers (Benjamin Salmon, Temi Wikey and Kamal Kaan) and Wright holding workshops for young people from the LGBTQ community, to help them create new work. Workshop participants will also be eligible for free tickets to the show.
