Full cast joining Freddie Fox has been announced for Edmond de Bergerac, which has its UK premiere at the Birmingham Rep in March before touring to York, Northampton, Cambridge and Richmond.

Henry Goodman will play Constant Coquelin, Josie Lawrence will play Sarah Bernhardt and Chizzy Akudolu will play Maria in the comedy, which opens on 15 March. The cast also features Delroy Atkinson as Monsieur Honoré, Gina Bramhill as Jeanne, Nick Cavaliere as Ange Floury, Simon Gregor as Marcel, Harry Kershaw as Jean, David Langham as George Feydeau, Robin Morrissey as Léo and Sarah Ridgeway as Rosemonde.

Still running in Paris, Alexis Michalik's five-time Molière Award winning play appears in a new translation by Jeremy Sams, with direction by the Birmingham Rep artistic director Roxana Silbert. It tells of the playwright Edmond Rostand (Fox), who is determined to write a new play called Cyrano de Bergerac.

Edmond de Bergerac will be designed by Robert Innes Hopkins, with movement by Liam Steel, composition by Dave Price, sound design by Dan Hoole, lighting design by Rick Fisher, voice direction by Stephen Kemble and casting by Amy Ball.
