Casting has been announced for Storyhouse in Chester's revival of Little Shop of Horrors, directed by Stephen Mear (White Christmas, Mary Poppins).

Michelle Bishop (Strictly Ballroom) stars as Audrey alongside Joshua Lay (Sweet Charity) as Seymour, Ryan O'Gorman (Rent) as the voice of Audrey II, Cindy Belliot (Kiss Me Kate) as Chiffon, Tanisha Spring (Caroline, or Change) as Crystal, Emily-Mae (The Producers) as Ronnette, Tony Timberlake (Rothschild and Sons) as Mr Mushnik, Stephane Anneli (Saturday Night Fever) as Orin and Brett Sheils (Legally Blonde) as the Audrey II puppet.

Mear said: "I am so thrilled to be directing and choreographing Little Shop of Horrors at the fabulous Storyhouse, it's my first time at this beautiful theatre and I can't wait to get started."

The production has design by Jess Curtin, musical direction by Alex Beetschen, lighting by Tim Lutkin, sound by Ben Harrison and assistant direction by Lucy Thatcher.

Howard Ashman and Alan Menken's classic musical is set on Skid Row and follows an alien plant that manages to take over the world. Songs in the musical include "Grow for Me", "Feed Me", "Somewhere That's Green" and "Suddenly Seymour".

Little Shop of Horrors runs from 10 May to 2 June.
