Jonathan Church's new season at Theatre Royal Bath has been announced with Amanda Abbington starring in the tenth anniversary production of God of Carnage alongside Downton Abbey's Elizabeth McGovern.

The show will be directed by Lindsay Posner and will run between 29 August and 15 September in a season which also includes a production of In Praise of Love starring Robert Lindsay and Tara Fitzgerald. Terence Rattigan's final play runs from 3 October to 2 November and looks at concealed truths and veiled emotions in a marriage.

Church also brings Joanna Murray-Smith's Switzerland, directed by Lucy Bailey, to the Ustinov Studio for its UK premiere. The show runs from 1 August to 1 September and is a psychological thriller which paints a portrait of Patricia Highsmith, the writer of The Talented Mr Ripley.

Arthur Miller's The Price will also be revived in its 50th anniversary, starring David Suchet. Telling of two estranged brothers and an encounter with furniture dealer Gregory Solomon, the show runs from 9 to 25 August.

The season kicks off with the already announced Henry V from 21 June to 21 July and An Ideal Husband from 18 July to 4 August.
