The Maureen Lipman-led Glorious isn't the only Peter Quilter play seeking a home in the West End (See Today’s News). End of the Rainbow, Quilter's new piece about the life of Judy Garland, hopes to transfer to London next year - though it will have much further to travel than the Birmingham Rep production of Glorious. While it’s set in London in 1969, it’s in Sydney (at the Sydney Opera House, no less – where, ahead of its first performance, it’s already had to extend the season due to popular demand) that End of the Rainbow receives its world premiere later this month. If the show does come up from Down Under, it will also herald the return of Bombshells star and Award winner Caroline O'Connor, who plays Garland. The play with music features many of Garland’s signature tunes, such as “You Made Me Love You”, “The Trolley Song”, “The Man That Got Away” and, of course, “Over the Rainbow”.
