Mamma Mia! producer Judy Craymer has approached Marianne Elliott to direct her next big project, the forthcoming Spice Girls musical Viva Forever. According to the Daily Mail, Elliott is in the "final stages of negotiations" to direct the show, which is set to premiere late next year and will feature a book by comedy legend Jennifer Saunders. But before she begins work on the project, Elliott, who proved she has the popular touch with War Horse, will have her hands full directing another National Theatre project, the forthcoming premiere of the Tori Amos/Samuel Adamson musical based on George MacDonald’s 1864 novel The Light Princess.
