Casting has been announced for the Old Vic's upcoming production of Yasmina Reza's Art, directed by Matthew Warchus.

Comedian Tim Key will star as Yvan alongside Rufus Sewell as Serge and Paul Ritter as Marc.

The show originally opened in London in 1996 and starred Albert Finney, Tom Courtenay and Ken Stott.

Translated by Christopher Hampton, Art follows three middle-class friends in Paris, whose friendship is tested when one buys an expensive work of art.

Key was last seen at the Old Vic in Daniel Kitson's play Tree in 2015. Sewell is currently starring as Lord Melborne in ITV drama Victoria. His previous stage credits include Old Times, Rock 'n' Roll and Translations. Ritter played John Major opposite Helen Mirren in The Audience and has also starred in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

Art runs at the Old Vic from 20 December to 18 February, with previews from 10 December.
