Previews and opening night for The Kid Stays in the Picture postponed

Danny Huston is set to make his London stage debut at the Royal Court

The producers of The Kid Stays in the Picture have been forced to cancel preview performances and postpone opening night at the Royal Court.

The performances from 7 to 10 March have been cancelled, and the opening night has been postponed until 20 March. Previews will now begin on 11 March.

In a statement, the theatre said: "It has become clear to us [since technical rehearsals began]… that [director] Simon McBurney and the company need more time to complete this ambitious and thrilling piece of work."

Danny Huston, known for his roles in The Aviator and X-Men will make his London stage debut in the play which is about the life of film producer Robert Evans.

The cast also includes Thomas Arnold, Heather Burns, Max Casella, Clint Dyer, Ajay Naidu and Madeleine Potter.

The Kid Stays in the Picture runs at the Royal Court from 20 March to 8 April, with previews from 11 March.
