In the Heights set for London return?

‘It won’t be long now… any day’

Following its sell-out success at the Southwark Playhouse last year, we hear that In The Heights is set to make a return to the capital later this year.

The show, which won the 2008 Tony Award for Best Musical and was nominated for the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, is rumoured to be moving north of the river in the autumn.

Featuring music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes, In The Heights is billed as "an exhilarating journey into Washington Heights, one of Manhattan's most vibrant communities".

The UK premiere, produced by Runaway Entertainment and Paul Taylor-Mills Ltd last summer, was directed by Luke Sheppard with choreography from Drew McOnie.

The cast included Sam Mackay, Nathan Amzi, David Bedella and Victoria Hamilton Barritt.

According to sources, producers are currently considering options for a venue. Could the tweet below be further confirmation of the show's return?
