Two new immersive theatre experiences are set to open at Madame Tussaud's in July 2016, offering visitors the chance to solve their own mysteries and experience some of the most famous places and moments from the popular stories.

Both productions have been created in partnership with Les Enfants Terribles, the team behind the Olivier-nominated show Alices Adventures Underground.

Permanently staged in the basement of Tussauds' London branch will be Sherlock Holmes: The Experience which invites families to 'enter the world of Sherlock Holmes' in a walk through adventure. Visitors will have the chance to interact with actors as they walk along lamp lit Victorian streets and nose around the detective's drawing room of 221B Baker Street.

The Game's Afoot, an over-16 evening show will also run in conjunction for six nights a week over the summer season. Visitors will get the chance to rival Holmes and will be tasked with solving a criminal case through following a series of individual clues hidden in objects, written on notes or played out by actors. Three different cases will be featured in rotation, and will all end with a themed bar.

Edward Fuller, general manager of Madame Tussauds London, commented: "Sherlock Holmes is very much a part of the attraction’s history – not just because of our proximity to Baker Street, but because Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, his creator, was throughout his life a regular visitor to Madame Tussauds. Indeed, some believe that Doyle’s choice of fictional address for Sherlock Holmes at 221B Baker Street, was influenced by his fascination with the attraction."

Sherlock Holmes: The Experience opens on 15 July and is included in the entry price to Madame Tussauds.
