5 Edinburgh shows featuring family members

There is a lot of family action at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Here’s five shows with casts chock-full of loved ones

Bricking It

Jo and Pat

Pat Griffin is a 73 year-old builder, but in this new piece he swaps jobs with his 29 year-old comedian daughter Jo. In Bricking It, he does the stand up while she builds the set around him. Pat has even talked to the likes of Mark Thomas and Richard Herring in an attempt to finesse those comedy skills.
4 to 28 August, Underbelly. For more information click here.

Rosie Chambers, aged nine, makes her Edinburgh debut alongside her mum and dad in this musical play from Prospero Production. Rosie plays Jessica, a girl recovering from brain surgery and her mum is played by Rosie's real-life mum Nicky Chambers. Her dad, on the other hand, gets to play an elephant.

Australian performer Bron Batten interviewed her 65 year-old parents about art, theatre and what exactly it is that she does for a living. Bron usually performs with her dad, but unfortunately Bron's dad has been ill and wasn't able to make the journey from Australia. So she'll have some replacement dads performing on the night… Real life dads doing dad jokes and dad dancing.
6 to 29 August, Gilded Balloon Teviot. For more information click here

They say never work with kids and animals, but Daddy – aka Cammy Sinclair – has entirely ignored that and created a family comedy show with his four year-old Robin. It's a father-toddler double act and there may be ice cream. What's not to like?
9 to 14 August, Heroes @Bob's BlundaBus. For more information click here.

Horace: We Are Family

Brother and sister Jack and Anna

And yes, they are. Brother and sister Jack and Anna Harris stage this comedy sketch show about being at a bizarre family wedding. We're hoping humour must run in the family. Part of the Free Fringe.
