Cast: Shaun Evans in Chichester double bill, Tricycle's Colby Sisters and 503's Stars

Evans joins Rosalie Craig in Chichester’s Strindberg/Shaffer double bill

Shaun Evans – currently starring as young Inspector Morse in ITV's Endeavour – will appear in the Miss Julie/Black Comedy double bill at the Minerva Theatre, Chichester later this year.

Evans will play Jean in Rebecca Lenkiewicz's new version of Strindberg's Miss Julie, and Harold Gorringe in Peter Shaffer's farce Black Comedy.

Evans’ stage credits include the West End production of Kurt and Sid and Blue/Orange (UK tour). Other screen credits include Wreckers, Silk, The Last Weekend and Teachers.

He joins the previously announced Rosalie Craig (The Light Princess), who plays the title role in Miss Julie and Clea in Black Comedy, and Marcia Warren (The Ladykillers) who will play Miss Furnival in Black Comedy.

Miss Julie/Black Comedy will be at the Minerva Theatre, Chichester from 4 July to 9 August 2014.


In other casting news, Tricycle artistic director Indhu Rubasingham has announced the cast for the world premiere of Adam Bock’s new play The Colby Sisters of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The play, which runs from 25 June to 26 July 2014 (previews from 19 June), centres on five glamorous sisters at the pinnacle of New York high society.

Trip Cullman will direct Ronke Adekoluejo (Heather), Isabella Calthorpe (India), Claire Forlani (Willow), Charlotte Parry (Gemma), Patricia Potter (Garden) and Alice Sanders (Mouse).

Adam Bock‘s previous work includes Phaedra, A Small Fire, The Receptionist, The Drunken City, The Thugs, Swimming in the Shallows and the musical adaptation of Shirley Jackson's We Have Always Lived in the Castle.


London's Theatre503 has announced full casting for its 'Second Look' revival of Billy Roche’s play A Handful of Stars.

As previously announced, Coronation Street actor and Boyzone star Keith Duffy will make his London stage debut as Stapler. Joining him will be Ciarán Owens (Oh What A Lovely War at Stratford East) as Jimmy, Michael O’Connor (Once) as Swan and Brian Fenton (The Cripple of Inishmaan) as Tony.

Artistic director Paul Robinson‘s production will run at Theatre503 in Battersea from 30 April until 24 May 2014.
