By • Northwest
Following success at the Lowry and the Manchester Opera House with West End star, Abigail Jaye playing the lead role, the musical Evita is back - this time, returning to Salford. Eva has also previously been played on the tour by Louise Dearman and Rachael Wooding. Marti Pellow is set to play Che.

Featuring some of the most famous and inspiring stage music ever written, including the classic songs "Don’t Cry For Me Argentina", "On This Night Of A Thousand Stars", "Oh What A Circus", "You Must Love Me" and "Another Suitcase In Another Hall", Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical plays at the Lowry for the second time.

Bringing to life the dynamic, larger-than-life persona of Eva Peron, wife of former Argentine dictator Juan Peron, Evita tells the story from her young and ambitious beginnings to the enormous wealth and power she gained and her ultimate rise to sainthood.

Evita has more than 20 major awards to its credit, including the Oscar-winning film version starring Madonna and Antonio Banderas, and features one of the most coveted roles in musical theatre.

Evita is at the Lowry from 29 July - 10 August
