The National Theatre of Scotland and the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Dunsinane, David Greig's sequel to Shakespeare's Macbeth, will tour Scotland and England from 24 August to 12 October 2013.

The play was premiered by the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2010 and was brought to Scotland in 2011 for a production in Edinburgh.

Dunsinane explores the aftermath of Macbeth's death in the Scottish town as the English army occupies the land and fight to restore peace during a violent uprising.

Its original director Roxana Silbert will helm the revival, with Jonny Phillips and Siobhan Redmond reprising their roles as Siward and Gruach.

Other cast includes: George Brockbanks, Helen Darbyshire, Tom Gill, Sandy Grierson, Lewis Howden, Joshua Jenkins, Tony McGeever, Alex Mann, Mairi Morrison and Daniel Rose.

The production opens at Eden Court, Inverness (24-31 August) before going on to His Majesty's Theatre, Aberdeen (3-7 September), Theatre Royal, Glasgow (10-14 September), Oxford Playhouse (17-21 September), Birmingham Repertory Theatre (24-28 September), Kings Theatre, Edinburgh (1-5 October) and Bath Theatre Royal (8-12 October).
