Photos of the upcoming touring production of A Streetcar Named Desire have been released, giving a first look at Kelly Gough, Patrick Knowles and Amber James in the new adaptation of Tennessee Williams' classic play.

Receiving a Pulizter Prize for drama 70 years ago, Williams' play follows two sisters-in-law caustically reunited for the first time in years. Director Chelsea Walker readapts the play and places it in a modern-day New Orleans context. Gough plays Blanche DuBois in the production, with Knowles as Stanley and James as Stella. It has design by Georgia Lowe and lighting design by Lee Curran.

The production opens at the NST City ahead of its UK tour, and will go on to visit Theatre by the Lake, Theatr Clwyd, Malvern Theatre, Bristol Old Vic, New Wolsey Ipswich, Cambridge Arts Theatre, Oxford Playhouse, before returning to the NST City.

The Southampton venue opened its doors last month with the premiere of Howard Brenton's The Shadow Factory.

A Streetcar Named Desire opens at NST City on 28 March ahead of its UK tour.
