Silently Hoping

Kalila has always thought she was British but then at ten years old she learns her father is Asian and a Muslim. Is she Asian and Muslim? As an adult, Kalila is embarking on a journey of self-discovery, she’s struggling with the idea of being a Muslim whilst at the same time enjoying a Friday night wine and being in a relationship with a woman. The cultural and religious divide between Kalila, her loved ones, and family becomes more apparent, and soon Kalila finds herself on the verge of losing the best things in her life because of her inability to live comfortably in her own skin.
