Diversifications is a female centric play, about three women who meet while waiting to receive the results of their genetic testing for cancer. Since the doctor is running late, they start talking and soon realise that each of them has something that the other one craves: children, career, freedom. By the end of their encounter, they all decide to walk out of the clinic without getting their results. Playing ‘genetic roulette’, they start living by new rules and follow their dreams. Sadly, for each of them, their decision has dire consequences. A year after they have passed, their husbands/partners meet to try and understand the logic behind their spontaneous but irresponsible decision. The play is structured as a ‘back and forth’ of opinions; male versus female perspective on marriage, love and parenthood. This is a heart-warming story about tough life choices, love and forgiveness.
The uniqueness of the play is rooted in its appeal to women and men alike, across generations. Though a highly emotive piece, it is peppered with humour and a deep understanding of humans and their complicated relationships
